crap into crap with flowers

i found an old medicine cabinet in the garbage in front of my old koreatown apt and i had to have it...i had dreams of painting it or spiffying it up in some uncertain manner.
matt said this would be yet another thing that i would never get to...
he was right, it moved from la with us and has sat propped against a wall in the spare bedroom of our new home in austin, for the 6+ months we have lived here...
but b/c of the recent addition (very recent, last tuesday) of crafty tuesday, this has started to shape into what i had hoped...well, it isnt done or anything, but it isnt the same old bare cabinet...unfortunately i did not take a pic of this before i started...but i trust you have an imagination...
i started by completely covering it with old newspaper using mod podge. then cutting our all different shades of brown and began creating the tree. then...

i cut out circles in different shades of pink to make blossom of some sort...this tree isnt real, so i get to do whatever i want...and then i found a little birdie...so i glued his feathery ass into my paper blossomy tree. then...

i cut out more blossomy circle thingys and glued away...i then outlined them with some red, to make 'em pop.

it isnt done...i think i maybe want to use some tea to age the newspaper, give a nice brown/yellow tinge. i havent ever done it, so, i am not sure if this is something i should have done previous to the glueing...but hell, maybe i want to paint it all blue, leaving some newspaer outline arount the tree...then, i think i want to add a branch the extends horizontally to the right, to even the tree out-it seems a little heavy on the left...then i will paint the bird, he got lost in the blossoms i think, so some crazy colors to make him stand out...
tomorrow is tuesday, my ladies will help me do some brainstorming...

Miss Brandy, so eloquent.

I can't wait to see this cabinet tomorrow night! The blossoms are especially lovely.
